One Crown Of Thorns

(written by Phillip T. Mullis II, used by permission)

Careful steering of a one horned bull.
Careful coddling of a three legged mule.
Careful laundering of a once treasured cloth.
Careful spreading of a once tasty broth.
Careful running of a one-hundredth mile.
Careful tending to a one-of-a kind smile.
One more thing for one to ponder.
One equals two when one's can gather.
One hurts like many when one gets torn,
    One crown of heavy...
      One crown of thorns.

A Life Transformed
I lived my life with reckless abandon, like there would be, no tomorrow. I lived life on the edge, engaging death as a playmate. If death came, then that too, I'd hoped in it's finality, would be the ultimate experience I craved. Maybe in death, I could finally realize the meaning of life.
