::News and updates::
Last week I told you about change, well there
seems to be more change happening.
First, another person accepted
Christ as
their Savior! Because of this, I have added
a new section in the C Zine, Lost Now Found.
Check it out, it's between the inspirational
story and the humor. Speaking of change, if
you haven't heard, in a few hours (and after
eight painfull years) Clinton will be out of
office!! We all need to pray for our new
president, and that he will
do GOD's will(we
should've done that 8 years ago). This week
Clinton is the subject of our joke: Hillary
Goes to Heaven, I know it's a strech, but
work with me! That will conclude
our jokes
of this administration, that is unless you
send me some good ones :)
Also, there's about a week before a big
change that's going take place.
Either the
Ravens or the Giants will become the Super Bowl
XXXV Champion!
Before I forget, one site will change their
status... becoming Christian
Site of the
Year 2000!
Will it be Email Ministy, with its exceptional
ezine?
Or maybe it will be Generation God, with its
wonderful features,
or could be Tela-Care ministry with it's
excellent ministry?
I don't know, you tell me!
Vote for your favorite site today!!

::Internet Security::
Awe, the most dreaded thing on the internet,
security! Now, maybe you've got a dsl, isdn,
cable, or satalite connection to the internet,
If you do I'm green with envy :) If you do
have one of these you are
at a greater risk
of being attacked. With these services you
are assigned a static i.p.
address. An ip
address is simply a number, a number which
other computers recognize you. An example
of an ip is 77.895.7.0 each
of the four parts
can contain between 1 and 3 digits. This is
a unique number. By using
one of the above
services you're ip doesn't change everytime
you visit
a website. if you use a dialup
provider(where you use your phone line to
connect to the internet)
you're ip address
will change everytime. Thus reducing the
danger of being hacked into.
A hacker can't
hack if the computer isn't online. So how
can they tell? It's not that difficult. Goto
Start->Programs->Ms-Dos Prompt(on Windows)
Type "ping ip", where ip is an ip address or
a nameserver(yahoo.com, for example).
If you want to ping yourself, just type
"ping localhost".
Here is an example of what is returned:
C:\WINDOWS>ping localhost
Pinging backpacker.ia.nsc.com [127.0.0.1] with
32 bytes of data:
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time=38ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128
Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 1ms, Maximum = 38ms, Average = 10ms
(NOTE: 127.0.0.1 is NOT your ip address, this ip
address is always the same as localhost, in this
example I could have pinged 127.0.0.1 and it
would turn out the same
as above)
You can also do this when you're offline, I am writing this
when I'm offline and it works fine.
To see what your current ip address is(windows), click
Start->Run
Type "WINIPCFG" and press enter.
Here you get some info on how you are on the
web. So how protected is your ip address?
Not as much as you might think. Everytime
you visit a website, part
of the query is
your ip address. Often message boards keep
track of the ip address. Often when you sign
up for a service, your ip is tracked. So how
do you protect yourself? First, never ever
use software that turns
your computer into a
server. I believe that Windows now comes
with free server software...
don't use it!
I also highly suggest investing into a security
program from McAffee or Norton. These products
keep track of people coming to your ip address,
and alert you if any one has accessed it.(it's
easy to do, just type your ip address in the
address bar of your favorite browser)
Essentially they are "burgular alarms". If
something like this happens, contact your
service provider IMMEDIATELY, I can't over
emphasize that. Give them as much information
as possible.

::Inspirational Story::
JOHN 3:16
In the city of Chicago, one cold, dark night, a blizzard was setting in.
A little boy was selling newspapers on the corner, the people were in
and out of the cold. The little boy was so cold that he wasn't trying
to sell many papers. He walked up to a policeman and said, "Mister, you
wouldn't happen to know where a poor boy could find a warm place to
sleep tonight would you? You see, I sleep in a box up around the corner
there and down the alley and it's awful cold in there, of a night. Sure
would be nice to have a warm place to stay."
The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, "You go down the
street to that big white house and you knock on the door. When they
come out the door you just say John 3:16 and they will let you in."
So he did, he walked up the steps to the door, and knocked on the door
and a lady answered. He looked up and said, "John 3:16."
The lady said "Come on in, Son." She took him in and she sat him down in
a split bottom rocker in front of a great big old fireplace and she went
off.
He sat there for a while, and thought to himself "John 3:16.... I
don't
understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm."
Later she came back
and asked him "Are you hungry?"
He said, "Well, just a little. I haven't
eaten in a couple of days and I
guess I could stand a little bit of food." The lady took him in the
kitchen and sat him down to a table full of wonderful food. He ate and
ate until he couldn't eat any more. Then he thought to himself "John
3:16... Boy, I sure don't understand it, but it sure makes a hungry boy
full."
She took him upstairs to a bathroom to a huge bathtub filled with warm
water and he sat there and soaked for a while. As he soaked, he thought
to himself, "John 3:16... I sure don't understand it, but it sure makes
a dirty boy clean. You know, I've not had a bath, a real bath, in my
whole life. The only bath I ever had was when I stood in front of that
big old fire hydrant as they flushed it out."
The lady came in and got him, and took him to a room and tucked him into
a big old feather bed and pulled the covers up around his neck and
kissed him goodnight and turned out the lights. As he laid in the
darkness and looked out the window at the snow coming down on that cold
night he thought to himself, "John 3:16... I don't understand it, but it
sure makes a tired boy rested."
The next morning she came back up and took him down again to that same
big table full of food. After he ate she took him back to that same big
old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace and she took a big
old Bible and sat down in front of him and she looked up at and she
asked "Do you understand John 3:16?"
He said, "No, Ma'am, I don't. The first time I ever heard it was last
night when the policeman told me to use it."
She opened her Bible to John 3:16 , and she began to explain to him
about Jesus. Right there in front of that big old fireplace he gave his
heart and life to Jesus. He sat there and thought, "John 3:16. I don't
understand it, but it but it sure makes a lost boy feel safe."
You know, I have to confess I don't understand it either, how God would
be willing to send His Son to die for me, and how Jesus would agree to
do such a thing. I don't understand it either, but it sure does make
Life worth living.
John 3:16 - 18
16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the
world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18. He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God.

If I could just ask a favor of you all, I
want you to pray for Christian
Internet
Resources. Satan has stepped up his attacks
against me, you can see why. I want you to
pray that CIR does GOD's
will and
that the LORD will continue using me for His
purpose. When I first started Christian
Internet Resources, back in
June of '99, I
never thought I would turn out to be an
internet missionary, but that's
exactly what's
happened. I have been stepping up my campaing
of the gospel, and I have plans to do more.
Have you accepted Christ as your Savior?

::Humor Me::
Hillary Dies and goes to heaven
Hillary Clinton died and went to heaven. As she stood in front of
St. Peter
at the Pearly Gates, she saw a HUGE wall of clocks behind him.
She asked, "What are the reasons for all those clocks?"
St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks.... Everyone on Earth has
a Lie-Clock.
Every time you lie, the hands on your clock will move."
"Oh," said Hillary, "whose clock is that?"
"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating
that she
has never told a lie in all her long life."
"And whose clock is that?" said Hillary.
"That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have only moved twice,
telling
us that Honest Abe only told 2 lies in his entire life."
"Where's Bill's clock?" Hillary asked.
"Bill's clock is in Jesus' office.
He's using it as a ceiling fan."

::Jesus Christ::
Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal
savior? Do feel like something
is missing
in your life? Do you feel like there is
no point to life, you have
nothing to live
for? Are you worried about your future?
You don't have to read horoscopes, or call
a psychic hotline to be cormforted of your
future. Instead, GOD loves
you. And He
wants only the best for you. He knows
you inside and
out, even if you don't know
Him. He loves you unconditionally, no strings
are attached to His love. He loves you so
much that He died for you. He did it so
that you and I could spend
all eternity
with Him. Do you have Him as your savior?
He didn't say that we would have all the
luxuries of this world, He
did say that He
would provide for us, if only we seek Him.
Do you have this wonderful gift called
Salvation? If you don't, it's
easy to get,
just ask Him you want it. Commit your life
to Him, and He will greatly
reward you.
Will you pray?
"Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. I need forgiveness.
I am
sorry for my sins and I don't want to sin against You
anymore. I believe
You are the Son of God and You died on
the cross for MY sins. I also believe
that you rose from the dead
so that I, too, may have victory over the grave.
Please forgive me
now Lord and cleanse me. Come into my heart and give
me a new
life. Thank You, Jesus, for shedding your blood for me and for
hearing
and answering my prayer. Amen"
If you've
just prayed that, you are a Child
of GOD. Think about that! A child of the
Creator of the Universe. It's a humbling
expirience. If you have anything you
want to know about your new life
with Christ,
or if you're still not sure about all this,
please do not hesitate to email me,

| | I lived my life with reckless abandon, like there would be, no tomorrow. I lived life on the edge, engaging death as a playmate. If death came, then that too, I'd hoped in it's finality, would be the ultimate experience I craved. Maybe in death, I could finally realize the meaning of life.
